Hey I'm thinking of going to Qantm but no positive feedback as of far, do you know if everyone does pass? or how widely known it is in the industry. any additional info is greatly appreciated :3

Hey,

One thing I can tell you about Qantm is that the three campuses in Australia are different. Not different in what is taught or how it is taught but the different locations call for different industry needs. The good thing about Qantm is that they know what the local area wants and they will help there students try get into that industry to get experience.

Saying that all the things you learn can still be used in any other industry. For example I would love to go into films. Now Qantm Brisbane specialise in games because the game industry in Brisbane is massive, but all the knowledge I gain I can use in films anyway.

The simply answer is No. Not everybody passes, Qantm courses are extremely intense and it takes a lot of dedication to succeed. A few people drop out of the course every trimester. I think the drop out rate is between 30 and 40 percent. But if your passionate about the course you enroll in then your most likely to pass. Also if your having trouble with the work load you can talk to admin and they will work something out with you.

Qantm was original an Australian company but was bought out by SAE Industries, who are a European company. So therefore Qantm is known in all Australasian industries as well as European and American industries. If you have a degree from Qantm you aren't ignored when going for an industry jobs and your most likely to get short-listed.

As you can see there is lots I can say about Qantm. If your looking at a job to do with creative I.T then I would suggest not going to a public university. Also Qantm host, "Study at Qantm" days where people can come in for a day and get to know the Qantm environment.

Any other questions??
What course are you looking at doing?

I'm looking at doing the Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment(with a Major in Animation, You seem to have helped with my other questions ^^ I'm willing to work hard for this that's not a problem, um but have you ever met or seen any talent scouts come to the campus and does anyone you know gotten into the job they have wanted with ease and help through Qantm. Thank you for replying btw ^^ oh and the Deviant Watch, It's easing my concern about attending a private college knowing the students think highly of it.

Talent scouts no, simply because 99% of the companies are private, and just don't have the funds to go around looking for new talent. However Qantm is in touch with all industry based moves so if a job opens up you will most likely hear about it. Also at the Brisbane campus we get speeches from people in the industry about what they are looking for in an employee. We also get employees that comes along to life drawing classes to build up there own skill and check out the student work. But that all depends on the Campus you go to. In Australia Brisbane is still the best simply because it's been around for 14 years, were as both Sydney and Melbourne are still trying to catch up and mature.

At the end of the two years Qantm actually set up an internship program, were the best of students can apply for an internship with a company in the industry. 90% of students who get an internship also get a job with that company at the end of it. During the course you are also building up your show reel and every second year gets an invite to Qantm industry night, were the students get to show off there stuff to the companies.

It is very rare that a student gets their dream job once they have graduated. Personally I'll be happy just to get into the industry because there is so much competition for jobs. It really depends on how much work you put into it. But Qantm does help you every step of the way, they just leave it to you to do the work.

Is there anything else??
Since you want to study Animation and I'm an animation student you could also ask me about the course if you like.
